Turning point

Olen saavuttanut käännekohdan. Uskokaa tai älkää. En kestä enää stashiani, vaikka se ei kovin valtava olekaan. Vaihdan kuun vaihteessa asuinympäristöä ja hankkiudun siinä samassa eroon melkein kaikesta kertyneestä langasta. Kuvaan jäljelle jääneet todistusaineistoksi jahka homma on ohi. Tekee mieli aloittaa puhtaalta pöydältä, ostaa lanka vain yhtä työtä varten kerrallaan. Ilman huonoa omatuntoa siitä, että mulla on jo lankaa.

I have reached a turning point. I can't stand my yarn stash anymore, small as it is. I'm moving at the end of the month and I'm getting rid of almost all of it. Pics to follow as evidence when I'm done. I want a clean slate, to buy yarn for one project at a time, and without the guilt of having so much allready.

Kesken on edelleen viimeksi esitelty virkkuu, joka on tosin edennyt vyötärön tietämille. Valmiina ja kuvaamatta on kesäinen pitsihuivi ja tekeillä toinen syksyinen. Näiden lisäksi olen lähinnä harjoitellut Tour de Fleeceä varten.

In the WIP front I'm still crocheting the cardigan I had started last time. I've also knitted some lace, but haven't managed to take any photos so you'll have to take my word for it. Other than that I've been practising for Tour de Fleece

Kesäloma sattuu kivasti tuolle ajalle. Tavoitteena on saada aikaa mahdollisimman ohutta lankaa. Materiaaliksi valikoitui kolme lettiä Woolgatheringsin polwarthia.

I'm on vacation during the tour, so I'm hoping to keep up. My goal is to spin as thin as possible, and I'm doing that with three 4 oz braids of polwarth from Woolgatherings.

Turneen jälkeen tarkoituksena on tehdä Revontuli (Ulla/Ravelry). Palaamme asiaan.

After the Tour it will become a Revontuli shawl. I'll get back to you on that.

Ei se ihan noin kiero mun mielestä ollut, mutta kuvien kanssa tuli hieman kiire samana aamuna, kun mekko piti antaa loppusijoituskohteen nimiäislahjaksi.

I don't think it was quite that wonky, but I was in a hurry: I took the pics just moments before handing it out to the small person.

Diet panda

50/50 wool/bamboo, 3-ply, ~550 m

Neulottu on lähinnä sukkia, mutta kuka piru niitä jaksaa kuvata omissa koivissaan. Menee veri päähän.

I've been knitting too, but mostly socks. Too much effort to document.It's been getting a shitload lighter though, so maybe I'll get to it.

Going senile

Liekö vuosikausien hautajaistamineet lyöneet aivot lopulta haaksirikolle, kun tuppaa tulemaan jotain ihan muuta nykyisin.

I think my brain might've done a flip; after years of happily dancing in funeral attire I've started to make all this colour therapy material.
